Education in Brief: School of Industrial Training and Education to be opened

Myanmar Times (online), 1 September 2017 - The Ministry of Education (MoE) and partner organizations signed a collaboration agreement on July 9 to open the School of Industrial Training and Education.

Friendly companies from Germany and Austria, and Sea Lion Company – responsible in the sector of health, education and advanced industry – will support the cost of training machinery and its systems, curricula and training the trainers. The school will teach auto industrial production system and its technology, computer-controlled metal cutting and designing, management and technology on water and sewage, technology on renewable energy such as solar and wind power and training for skill on wood finished products and furniture.

The school, to be located at 123 Natmauk Road, Bahan township,Yangon, will open in June 2018 and will offer vocational training courses on advanced industrial production sector. Those who have passed the high school matriculation exam with mathematics, physics and chemistry combination can apply for admission. The basic course will take four months and 120 students will be admitted for the first batch with 24 students in each class.
The MoE will spend K2.5 billion and partner organizations will fund K1.5 billion for the establishment of the school.
