Growth and Employment | World We Want 2015

"When you were a child, have you ever written an essay which started “If I was a President…” ? Or a Prime Minister, or a King, or a Leader of my country? Probably, years have passed since then, and you have thought, learned and experienced a lot more about aspirations and deeds of people in life for themselves and for their children. People are the agents of change, and they know and do a lot that leaders can learn from. This is an exciting time and unprecedented opportunity to say what kind of world we want to leave in. On this space, we are running a series of four e-discussions on growth and employment in order to convey your messages to global leaders who will be making decisions on the post-2015 development agenda. These discussions will be run in January and February, starting one after another, and you are welcome to participate in one or all of these e-discussions. Please share your thoughts on what you would have done about: jobs and livelihoods; growth, diversification and structural change; development-led globalization; sustainability and growth … if you were a key decision-maker of your country. Moderated e-discussions started! The e-discussion on Jobs and Livelihoods is moderated by Rizwanul Islam, independent expert on employment, and Aurelio Parisotto, Senior Economist of ILO. "
